We would be delighted if you could join us for our online engagement event “COPD and COVID-19 – Stay Well This Winter” taking place on Saturday 28th November 2020 at 10am. We have outlined below a set of instructions on how to join the webinar.
What you need to get started!
When it is time to join the meeting, you will need an internet connected computer, laptop, tablet or mobile phone.
We would recommend that you download the Zoom App on your device and attend the meeting via this for a better connection. Click below for the links to the app on both Apple and Android devices.
Please see the the section below for instructions on how to access the meeting via the browser, should the app not be a viable option for you.
Joining via the App
If you are joining via the Zoom App, when you click on the link (provided above), it will automatically take you to a Zoom page. You need to click on ‘Launch Meeting’, and you will be prompted to enter your email and your name. Please ensure that you use your full name so that the meeting host can identify who has joined the webinar.
Joining via the Browser
If you are unable to download the app and are joining via an internet browser on your laptop or computer, you will need to enter join.zoom.us into your browser. You will then need to enter the Meeting ID (provided above). A prompt box will come up asking you to open Zoom Meetings, you will need to select ‘Cancel’. You will then need to select ‘Launch Meeting’ and an option should appear at the bottom of your screen for you to ‘Join from your browser’. Please select this option. You will then be able to enter your name, email address and passcode to join the meeting. Please ensure you use your full name so that the meeting host can identify who has joined the meeting.
Joining by Telephone
If you would like to join via the App on your phone, simply click on the link provided under section ‘Meeting Link & Password’, and then tap ‘Launch Meeting’. If this is the first time you are using Zoom on your phone, please click on ‘Download from App/Play Store’. Once the app is opened, you will need to click on ‘Join a Meeting’, and you will be prompted to enter the Meeting ID (see above), the passcode and your name and email address. Please ensure that you use your full name so that the meeting host can identify who has joined the meeting.
To dial in by telephone, use any of the following number. You will then be prompted to enter the Meeting ID (when it asks for ‘Participant Code, please press # to continue) and passcode.

I am having trouble joining the meeting. What can I do?
If the meeting space indicates that the meeting has ended or has not started, verify the meeting time. The meeting may have been scheduled for a different time zone.
If you are asked to sign into your existing Zoom account and you have forgotten your password, select the ‘Forgot?’ link and follow the instructions on the screen.
If the meeting window is not loading, close your browser and try to join the meeting again. Be sure to accept or approve any alerts requiring your approval to install the Zoom meeting application and turn off any pop-up blocker that could be preventing the Zoom meeting window from opening.
You will be directed to the Zoom website and from here you will need to click ‘Launch Meeting’.
Allow time to check technical requirements
We recommend that before signing in to the meeting on the appropriate day and time, please spend 10 minutes checking that you have the correct system requirements (Click here)
You will waste time if you do not do this in advance of the meeting as the webinar will start promptly at the time advertised.
Once you have joined the meeting, you will be able to see the speakers, as well as a few controls at the bottom of your screen.

Some questions will have been submitted prior to the event, and attendees will be able to submit written questions during the meeting. To send a question, please click on the Q&A icon, and type your question in the prompt box, and click ‘send’.
To leave the webinar, please click the ‘Leave Meeting’ link in the lower right corner of the window. In the confirmation pop-up, click ‘Leave Meeting’ to exit.
If you accidentally leave the webinar, please follow the instructions above to re-join this.
We will run some polls during the webinar, we would much appreciate if you could please take the time to complete this to help us plan future engagement activities.
